Welcome to the web home of Jim and Alice Mundy, residents of the Central Coast area of California. This is just a personal site to share our interests with family and friends, and whoever else might be interested. It's also a testbed for Jim to explore some ideas in web page design and interaction. We hope you enjoy your visit!
We are the proud parents of two terrific kids who are grown and pursuing their lives in other places. Our daughter, Dawn, lives in California's San Joaquin Valley with her husband, Wes, and our granddaughter, Lauryn. Our son, Travis, lives in southern Arizona with his wife, Shauna. More about them to come soon on the Kids & Grandkids page.
We recently purchased a home with a wonderful garden to which we are trying to do justice. We've never had a serious garden before, so this has been a real learning curve. It was, in fact, quite a job just to figure out what all the plants were! The Our Garden page showcases the garden and some gardening links we've found helpful. The Our Home page will show off the house and some of the improvements we are making.
Our area abounds with scenic beauty and local events. Some of this is presented on the Local Interest page.
Alice and Jim are both fans of things Celtic, particularly Celtic music. We have a fairly extensive collection of CDs by Celtic artists. So the Celtic Stuff page will show some of our interests in that realm.
The Serendipity page will be a place for us to post whatever happens to take our fancy.
Our Guestbook is also open for business. It's a bit bare-bones but functional.
Technical notes:
The main pages here are all CSS styled -- no tables, frames, etc. The basic layout was inspired by the article How to Conceive a Layout by Mezzoblue. The single-image navigation menu is based upon the article Create a graphic menu with only one image and without preload on the Alsacreations site. This is actually pretty cool; the rollovers are accomplished strictly with CSS and no Javascript is required.
